How a Gold IRA Works
Nothing about a Gold IRA is complicated once you can see who is responsible for what. Here is the whole sequence.
Step 1 — Talk
We learn what you own, what kind of account it is in, and what you are trying to do. Then we explain the options that fit. Nothing is sold on this call.
Step 2 — Fund
Your custodian opens the self-directed IRA. Money moves from your existing retirement account into it by transfer or rollover. We coordinate the paperwork with the custodian; you sign what only you can sign.
Step 3 — Select and store
You choose the metal. We execute the purchase at the price we showed you. The distributor ships the metal to an approved depository, which holds it in your IRA's name. You receive confirmation of what was bought and where it sits.
After that
You can add to it, sell some, take a distribution, or move custodians later. The same person who helped you set it up will still answer the phone.
What we do, in order
- Help you understand and choose the metals.
- Coordinate with your custodian to set up and fund the account.
- Execute the trade.
- Work with the distributor and the depository so the metal is shipped and stored.
